French Police enter the water to try and stop migrants boarding small boats that had come to collect them on June 13, 2025, in Gravelines, France. Police used tear gas and pepper spray to try and disperse hundreds of migrants aiming to board several boats but were ultimately overwhelmed by the sheer number of people. A record number of migrants (more than 15,000) have left the northern French coastline and arrived in the United Kingdom so far this year.
