**Bradley Murdoch, the man convicted of murdering British backpacker Peter Falconio in the Australian outback in 2001, has died in prison without ever disclosing the location of his victim's remains.**

**Murdoch, who was serving a life sentence, passed away at a hospital in Perth on Saturday, Western Australia's Department of Justice confirmed.**

**The 66-year-old had always denied killing Mr Falconio, whose disappearance while travelling with girlfriend Joanne Lees in the Northern Territory made global headlines.**

**Lees managed to escape after the attack, which happened when the couple's camper van was ambushed on a remote highway near Barrow Creek.**
